About Us

I'm from a small island, somewhere close to the end of the world. The kind of place people fly across the world to visit, and I grew up thinking that was just normal. Wild, remote and honestly one of the most beautiful places on earth. And yet the adventure side of it wasn't really part of life growing up. It was just my backyard. Beautiful backdrop, not a lot of action.

Then life changed, a new city, and a quiet realisation that I'd grown up next to something extraordinary and never actually done any of it. So I started. Mountain climbing first, then cam everything else, mountain biking,  spearfishing, diving, fishing, camping and 4WD.

Along the way I met my partner, an ocean freak who grew up doing all of it. Spearfishing, diving, motorsport, 4WD, fishing, camping. The kind of person who has salt water in his blood and has never once in his life wondered whether he was capable of something outdoors. Being around that, I started to understand something. So much of this world passes people by not because they're not capable, but because they never learnt how..

That's what we do at Ripple and Range. Real advice, honest guides, and the kind of knowledge that usually only gets passed on if you grew up in that sort of family.  And the best part, our 14 year old daughter is learning the ropes. I may not have grown up doing this, but she sure will be . Bungee jumping at 11, knows her fishing knots. We're pretty happy with how it's going.

If you want to get out there, whatever your age, with a family or without,

and you just don't quite know how, this place is for you. And if you've got kids along for the ride, well. At least they'll grow up knowing a thing or two.
